Behavioral health services

On the care we offer

We offer integrated behavioral health care: psychiatric medication management, psychotherapy, couples and family work, and specialty programs. Care is available in person and through secure telehealth, where clinically appropriate.

01

Specialty Care

Beyond general outpatient care, Crossroads Medical maintains focused clinical programming for adults presenting with specific condition profiles that benefit from a more structured, coordinated approach. These specialty programs draw on condition-specific protocols and are staffed by clinicians with particular depth in the relevant literature. The goal is not a separate tier of service but a more precise alignment between a patient's clinical picture and the treatment delivered.

Some conditions benefit from a clinician with focused training. Our specialty programs are organized around the diagnostic categories that present most often in adult outpatient behavioral health, staffed by clinicians with additional training in each area.

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Mood disorders
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • OCD and related conditions
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions
  • Workplace burnout and chronic stress

Psychiatry & Medication Management

Psychiatric care at Crossroads Medical begins with an evaluation long enough to be genuinely informative, one that takes into account not only symptoms but history, context, and the patient's own account of what is happening. Medication management, when it is indicated, is approached iteratively, with regular follow-up appointments that track both response and the details of daily life that shape it. The psychiatrist you meet at intake remains your psychiatrist throughout.

Our psychiatric care is delivered by physicians who completed an MD or DO, a four-year residency in psychiatry, and who hold board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Visits are scheduled at the frequency your care requires.

  • Diagnostic psychiatric evaluation
  • Ongoing psychiatric medication management
  • Coordination with primary care & specialty providers
  • Care for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, perinatal mental health, and major life transitions
  • Telehealth or in-person at your preference
03

Couples & Family Care

Relational care at Crossroads Medical is offered to adult couples and family configurations navigating communication breakdown, major life transitions, grief, conflict, or the long-term effects of earlier relational patterns. The clinicians who lead this work understand that the unit of treatment is the relationship itself, and they bring that orientation to every session rather than simply arbitrating between individual positions. Couples and family work is conducted separately from individual care to preserve the distinct purposes of each.

Relationships are part of behavioral health. Our couples and family clinicians are trained in evidence-based systemic and relational modalities, and care is delivered with the same evidence base as our individual treatment.

  • Couples therapy (Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method-informed)
  • Family therapy for adults and adult-child family units
  • Parent guidance for adults navigating parenting under stress

Telehealth

Secure video appointments are available for both psychiatric and psychotherapy services and are conducted through a platform that meets federal privacy standards. For patients in Indiana whose geography, schedule, or circumstances make in-person attendance difficult, telehealth offers the same clinical relationship through a different medium. The standard of care does not change with the format; the appointment is structured, documented, and followed up in exactly the same way.

Where clinically appropriate, both psychiatric care and psychotherapy are available through HIPAA-compliant telehealth. The same clinicians, the same care — delivered to wherever you can find a quiet, private space within your state of residence.

  • Telepsychiatry medication management
  • Teletherapy for psychotherapy and couples care
  • Secure, HIPAA-compliant platform
  • Equal-fee, in-network billing where your plan permits

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy here is scheduled as a weekly or biweekly commitment, not as an occasional supplement to medication. Our licensed psychotherapists are trained in modalities with strong empirical support, including cognitive-behavioral approaches, psychodynamic therapy, and acceptance-based frameworks, and the selection of approach is made in dialogue with the patient rather than by default. The work is slow by design, because the conditions that bring most adults to therapy did not arrive overnight.

Our therapists are independently licensed (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, PsyD, or PhD) and matched to your care based on your goals and the modalities best suited to them. Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or biweekly to start.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills
  • Psychodynamic and supportive psychotherapy
  • Trauma-focused care
  • Perinatal and postpartum-specific therapy

Care begins with a conversation.

Most new patients are scheduled within 7–10 business days.
